I had a very interesting call from Scottish Power this morning. Verified my name etc and then the gent said "we understand that you recently changed provider and you are no longer with us", I replied "yes we have but it wasn't that recent". The gent then asked "may I ask why you changed supplier" I answered "because we got a great deal from the supplier we are with now and we compared their prices to everyone elses' and they could not be beat on price and since being with them, they can't be beat on customer service either".
The gent went on to say that he could beat our current supplier's prices, and I told him that ours was capped for several years, he said they could do that too, I then quickly reminded him that they had put their prices up 3 times in as many months, whereas our current suppliers have changed nothing, except for offering more special deals for customers to take advantage of. He then asked what special deals are they because we can probably offer you the same. I said well...where shall I start hhhhmm they give us 10% discount which is applied on gas and electricity at the end of the year on our bill, we have all our utilities under the one roof ie, phone, broadband, gas, electricity and mobile, so therefore one direct debit and we have a discount club card so that every time we shop either on line or the high street we get money back off our bill from 3% up to 7% even petrol! We also get a discount for introducing friends, and so far we have introduced 12 people so that means we now get a further 30% off our monthly bill which is ongoing so long as our friends pay their bills hee hee and those friends who introduce their friends, get the same! (as long as everybody pays their bills, but people need most of these utilities, my friends are trustworthy and I have full faith that they will).
The gent then said "I don't think there is much I can say to that, thank you for your time" and put the phone down - maybe their phone bills are high lol - They should join us!
