Passengers and crew of the Titanic ignored a number of maritime
superstitions when the ship made its ill-fated maiden voyage, new data
analysis has found.
Sailing myths, including the negative presence
of women, priests and barbers on board the ship, were ignored,
according to family history website findmypast.co.uk.
Superstitious
sailors would have been horrified to discover there were 353 female
passengers, three barbers, four priests and a monk on board.
I knew that there were certain superstitions throughout World War II and no doubt WWI, that brothers should never be on board the same ship - I know that my mother's two uncles were on the same ship during WWII and there ship was hit and both brothers died, along with a lot of other courageous men. (this is Linda by the way) and I'm going to do a little bit of digging into the superstitions of the Titanic
