SKY AND MURDOCH LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK

Sky profits up by 24%


Sky’s HD user base has risen to 3.7m homes as the pay TV operator added 51,000 new subscribers in its third quarter.
Underlying profits increased 24% to £790 million in the nine months to March 31 as new services such as the recently-launched Sky Atlantic, revamped Sky Living channel and on-demand service Anytime+ helped customer numbers grow to 10.1 million. Revenue was up by 14% over the period from £4.2bn to £4.8bn.
