Rob and I were out shopping this afternoon, and upon our return one of our lovely neighbours called across to us to ask how I was after the hospital turmoil of the week. We were chatting in her garden and then she asked us to join her for a cup of tea. She is in her late 80's but you wouldn't know it to look at her.
She is exceptionally proud of her grandchildren, one of whom is a doctor and works in the A & E department in a London hospital, as we were chatting about hospitals, she said I must tell you a true but very funny story. She said "my grandson was doing his shift in A & E and a mother and father brought in their 6 year old son. They said they had just bought a cat and their son had come out in rashes all over his body, his eyes were watering and he kept sneezing, James (our neighbours grandson) said he was obviously allergic to the cat" and, promptly wrote out a prescription spray for the child.
A few days later, the parents returned to the hospital very concerned as their son was actually getting worse and not better, it turned out THEY WERE SPRAYING THE CAT!!!!
If only the cat could talk hey, it might have been saying "what on earth are you doing, I'm not allergic to him" hee hee
