Feedback wanted

Another week has raced by, and our blog goes from strength to strength. We have gone from zero to "blog of the week" inside 6 weeks, and of course we are now getting some vital feedback. Some people say that we have it all wrong, too many product lead posts, and not enough about our daily lives. It's all about content they say.  Well here is the thing: we are not trained/professional journalists, and if we were, then this blog would not be here! This blog is about online shopping, and our experience of it, so product and online shopping sites has to feature. Yes we use merchant banners, they are free and easy to use, and brighten up the post. Yes, if a reader clicks the banner and makes a purchase, we do get paid a commission in some cases, but I see that as a finders fee, and we are open and honest about that.

If a blog is about a niche then for that blog owner, it's fine.  However, were you to buy a newspaper and found that on every page it featured the same story over and over again, it would be classed as a magazine.  What I'm saying is that we are a bit of everything, sometimes we write about things that are happening in our day, Linda for instance left a 'Mascara' tip on the subject of beauty, however we also both have strong feelings about scam sites, the way the big six energy companies are ripping us all off, and not just in the UK, about finding the right deal, about wanting to save people time and money, and we are passionate about what we write.  For one person, he told us in no uncertain terms what our blog should be about, well I'm sorry that person but we aren't you and this is our blog.  As long as we have readers, which are growing daily in numbers, then we will keep writing.  It's enjoyable, cathartic, there is news to be told, views to be heard, opinions to be formed, why on earth with a world of experience between the two of us (both being aged 51), would we want to stick to just the one subject - our blog site and it's articles evolve, just as life does itself.

How to be different and interesting in a very crowded area? Just type "online shopping" into your search engine box and see how many results you get. We recommend and review sites as we find them, and on our Onestop online shopping page our readers can find a wide selection of great shopping portals, without having to spend hours searching the web.

So thanks for the feedback, and we would welcome some more, good or bad! Let us know what you would like to see on our posts.

Thanks
Rob & Linda
