Taken the plunge

After a month of intensive online research into just how we can combine our spare time and the Internet to make money and improve our lifestyle, we have taken the plunge.

The fact is that there are many online shopping review sites, online shopping recommendation sites and online coupon sites. If we want to get paid for all our time and effort we put into online research, we need to produce an entertaining and informative blog, which does add value to the reader (buzz term me thinks!).

Now many online blogs only recommend products and services that make them money, and despite their claims, many online shopping reviews are written by someone who has never seen or used the product, they just get a commission when one of their readers clicks on a link and buys something that they have recommended. Often such blogs combine this approach with some SEO and/or traffic generation software, hoping that they will pull in masses of visitors and make their commissions not on the quality, truth and accuracy of their review, but on the law of averages.
 
Most of you will have seen such sites, and after a while you get to know the signs, and they do stand out and lose their appeal.

We believe in a different, more long term approach. If we are genuine, and write about our own online shopping experiences, we hope to build a good following and build a solid online shopping review and recommendation site that our readers can trust. That will take time, and we've gotta eat, so we will use links to promote some products and services that we are affiliated to, and we will make a small commission on some sales but for the most part we aim to do as I have said and encourage people also to reveal their recommendations/reviews and opinions whether they are good or bad, so we can do our research. (Check out Gems query to me in an earlier blog about Poundstretcher).

We hope that you will comfortable with this, and if it works the way we intend, then our readers will benefit from some top online deals and good quality products, and the commission we make will allow us to continue to spend our time researching the online shopping market, and reporting our findings to you.
